The Living Land Tour

Over the years I have worked with lots of small independent Tour Operators from around the world. Helping them craft and curate their idea of a dream tour to Ireland. I absolutely love this work! It’s the kind of project that keeps me from getting burnt out and reminds me just how lucky I am to live in Ireland and how I get to work in some of the most beautiful and sacred places, not only in Ireland, but in the whole world! When you listen to someone talk so passionately about something they experienced here, something profound and life changing, and how now they want to share it with others. It makes me feel incredibly privileged. But when you are working on these tours, you must accommodate everything the client might potentially want, and usually that will also include some of the more touristy things. The big hitter places like the Guinness Storehouse, the Cliffs of Moher or Newgrange. And this is fine, but personally I hate those places! Everything is massively overpriced, with crowds and queues everywhere and no freedom to explore the places yourself as you “must stay with your group.” For a gallivanter, thats not the kind of tour I enjoy! Give me off the beaten track, unique, unusual, and hidden gems all the way! And thats why I am so excited to be involved with this tour!

Temple Bar Dublin

Celtic Ways Ireland is a small company like my own run by husband and wife team Phil and Elaine. Being from the same town, our paths have criss crossed many times at trade fairs and tourism networking groups, and also at local events here at home! We have often spoken about working together but never actually really got it together until now! Phil and Elaine specialise in “designing and hosting private tours of Ireland that bring visitors face to face with the soul of Celtic Ireland” Now doesn’t that just sound like a match made in heaven! Add in my dear friend Heather Canfield and her expertise on the West of Ireland, plus the bus driver we all love Declan and we really do have the dream team!

So what is this tour, all this waffle and I am telling you nothing! WELL…. between us we have selected our most special, most sacred, most magical and most moving places and combined them into a 12 day tour of Ireland that will take you on a journey through stone circles and sacred lakes to iconic Heritage sites, fairy mounds and stunning viewing points, leaving us, eventually, back in contemporary Ireland!

The places we visit include Tara and Uisneach, two of Ireland’s most historically important and sacred Hill Tops. There is the home of St Bridget in Kildare,, previously worshipped here as a Goddess. Gougane Barra Valley, and its spectacular glacier lake surrounded by forest. The famed Skellig Michael island, with its evocative Beehive huts from the 8th century.

And as we leave the ancient behind and move to contemporary Ireland, we do it gently! With visits to farms and food producers, You’ll visit the family owned farm that produces the creams for Baileys Cream after tastings and a hearty lunch there, you’ll tour an artisan chocolate factory for talk and taste with the chocolatier herself!

This tour is a collection of our favourite and most magical places to visit, and with us, you will be surrounded by fabulous storytellers, all working in some way in the Spiritual world either as guides, teachers or thats simply where they exist and all here to guide you on your own personal journey.
