An Authentic Journey into Folk Tradition, Myth & Lived Earth Magic
So many of you have asked for this after walks and workshop, and I’m so glad to finally share it with you!
If you’ve ever tried to learn about Irish paganism or ancient Irish traditions/customs online, you’ve probably run into a few of the same problems: not knowing where to start, only finding endless surface-level fluff that misquotes our old customs, or aggressive gatekeeping that makes you feel like you aren’t “Irish enough” to touch it!
Our native traditions, ancient myths, and seasonal rhythms belong to anyone whose soul craves a deeper connection to the Earth. In a modern world where so many of us feel detached, exhausted, and disconnected, there is profound, grounded wisdom waiting in Irish folk practice. A practice that has grown and evolved over 1000s of years and has been influenced by the waves of arrivals to these shores over the millennia.
From the fierce, inspiring strength of our Goddesses and Warriors standing against injustice, to the practical magic of living alongside the land, understanding the trees, the plants and the seasons. This path is a medicine for our times.
Think of this course as a seat by my kitchen table. Drawing directly from my lived practice as a bean feasa, learned from the women of my family and years of deep, referenced research, we will strip away the internet myths and trace our traditions back to their real roots—exploring the true origin of the Elements vs. Triads, breaking down common misconceptions month by month, and learning authentic Irish folk practice without having to buy a whole library or trek across every bog in Ireland to find it.
Each of the four modules lands in your inbox one week before the festival so you can prepare, align, and spend the next three months really living the season. Over the three months, you will have your videos to watch, PDFs to read, and all in your own time. No interfering with your home or work life. There will be no compulsory gatherings, no homework, and certainly no pressure!
The Four Turning Points
Module 1: Samhain — Entering the Dark & The Foundations of the Wise.
-
As the dark half of the year arrives, we turn inward. We’ll explore what being “Pagan” actually means in a true Irish context. We break down the terminology, its influence on Wiccan, and what is cultural appropriation versus appreciation.
-
We unpack the Wheel of the Year and the various festivals, their history, associated sacred sites and how to celebrate.
-
We look at the Five Elements versus the Celtic Triad, and learn how to cast a circle and call in as we ground ourselves in foundational learning.
-
Plus, learn to hibernate with purpose—stitching, fixing, and spending long winter nights listening to the stories of the land!
Module 2: Imbolc — The Goddesses, Bríd & Awakening the Spark.
- As the land wakes up, we explore the Tuatha Dé Danann and the deep history of Goddess and Saint Bríd. We look at resources to study these Celtic Myths to uncover their deeper meanings, and the place names associated with them
- You’ll get step-by-step videos to weave traditional Bríd’s crosses (and how to use it as a modern manifestation tool)
- We dive into Hedge Medicine, so that you can identify the plants and trees that will begin to pop up around your home over the coming weeks, or what you might want to try to grow yourself!
- We take a look at how our ancestors viewed our native trees, using Iron Age Brehon Laws as a reference, and how to use Ogham in a similar way to Runes.
- And use ancestral methods to clear winter sludge and get your body moving again.
Module 3: Bealtaine — The Awakening Woodlands and Meadows.
- Step into the summer light and the fires of May.
- We’ll dive into Irish fairy lore as foraging season begins in earnest. As the Hawthorn blooms, we look at how we might protect ourselves and work with the Sídh of the land without upsetting them!
- We explore divination, from Tea Leaves to Fireside Scrying
- We take a look at the Tarot, and using the Rider Waite Cards, you can begin doing readings for friends!
- We look at the origins of the Bealtaine Festival, from its ancient origins to modern times, the superstitions, customs and a whole lot of dairy!
- You’ll learn how to ignite the fire in your belly, build your own sacred fire, and infuse elemental energy into everyday summer life.
Module 4: Lughnasadh — The First Harvest & Sacred Celebration.
- Gathering the fruits of the year. We’ll uncover the lore of Lugh and the arrival of the Cailleach.
- We take a look at how the Wise Grandmother evolved into the Wicked Witch, and take a deeper look at the stories of the Goddesses that die at this point of the year
- Discover how to host a true harvest gathering even if you don’t grow your own food! And why these gatherings are important.
- You’ll get recipes for those wild plants, seeds and cones you’ve gathered to transform into inks, dyes, teas, tinctures, and salves, and begin crafting your own charms, cures, and spells as you complete the cycle and prepare for the Coming Samhain
With each module, you will also learn some fun, easy ways to turn these Quarter Festivals into celebrations that honour the seasons, our friends and family and our ancestors, inspired by customs and traditions still found in rural Ireland today.
