Hello and welcome to Gallivanting.ie!

If you’ve landed here, its because you are looking for something cool to do while you’re visiting this particular part of Ireland. Let me tell you now, you’ve made the right choice! Wexford is full of things to see and do! But let me tell you a little about myself!

I was born in Dublin into a family that has worked in hospitality for generations! Hotels, pubs, restaurants, musicians and artists.

On my Mothers side here in Wexford, they were Carpenters and Wood Turners, all incredibly talented.

At age 21, having spent every bit of free time I had in Wexford, I made the decision to move down here full time. I settled in Gorey and never looked back.

Over the years I worked in retail and hospitality, I started Gallivanting 6 years ago, first focusing on history and folklore tours for international visitors, then food and farm tour with Taste Wexford.

Then came Covid!

Overnight the business disappeared. I should have lost my mind with worry but there was one constant that has kept me going all these years, the Trees.

Ever since I was a child I had a special connection to the Trees, it was and still is a real passion of mine. It led me on a path towards an Earth Based Spirituality. An interest in herbology, aromatherapy, Celtic Mythology, Irelands Sacred Sites and eventually Goddess Worship.

As an Irish woman, I can trace my ancestry all the way back to the Iron age. The Gaelic ruling clan of Dubhuir who sat at Cashel. And while none of us really know how the old Gods and Goddesses were honoured by our Ancestors, I try to hold onto the little we do know. I acknowledge the old festivals that mark the turn of the year, in times of trouble, I petition the Old Gods for help. I use the native plants that grow in our oldest woodlands to heal and to feed myself! I see the trees as old friends and myself as an equal with the birds and animals that live under their canopy.

I was Forest Bathing, long before I discovered it was a “thing” and when Covid shut us down, it led to huge changes. All around me, people were rediscovering the outdoors, birdsong, fresh air and a sad realisation that they had become grossly disconnected to the natural world.

I discovered that my self guided study placed me in the perfect “bridging” position. I may not be able to give you the latin name or tell you the correct way to prune a tree. But I can tell you which tree gives you black dye - the oak, which tree was the tree of the warrior -the alder and which tree Thor’s hammer was made from -the Rowan!

I can tell you all about the wood wide web, the process that converts carbon to oxygen and the plants that grow on the forest floor too!

As a Pagan with over 30 years practice and yet no affiliations to any of the Covens or Druidic Organisations I can share my knowledge with others wanting to connect with the Feminine Divine without a need for formal training. I believe anyone can live and follow a Pagan path that they create for themselves and that the training, is actually a life long journey of discovery.

And as a trained and qualified guide I know how to deliver that information in an easy and entertaining way.

So in this strange new world we are entering, one were many have rediscovered nature, or even discovered it for the first time. I invite you to join me for a walk and see the trees as your ancestors did. To learn about the Brehon Laws of Ireland, the Ogham Tree writing system, discover the Gods and Goddesses that were worshipped here long before the church and so, so much more!

Come gallivanting and be enchanted!
